Hydrafinil Report

Original post in this thread

[deleted] · 22 points

I received my shipment of Hydrafinil a few days ago and have dosed it 4 times at this point and feel as if I can give some good feedback as to it's effectiveness (on my own chemistry at least). Currently I am not stacking any other substances except for Magnesium Citrate and a Multivitamin and Nicotine Vaporized.

Day 1 - 53mg Hydrafinil (2x)
----------------------------------

>T:0 - Ingested the powder (odd consistency reminds me of Alpha-GPC, not sure if it's hydrophilic or something along those lines?)
>T:+30m - Started to feel the effects of the initial dose beyond what I imagine to be placebo. I'm generally slightly fatigued due to sleep deprivation for my working schedule this fatigue was removed almost completely.
>T:+1h - Effects are in full swing. This dosage is reminiscent of the higher doses of Adrafinil that I have tried however it feels cleaner subjectively. The wakefulness promotion given by Hydrafinil can only be described as clean stimulation (not in the same vein as standard stimulants).
>T+1.2h - Slight euphoria has been noted at this point. Not anything to write home about but I was getting a little bit more pleasure out of day to day activities.…

Hah. People STILL often expect modafinil to be some robust stimulant.. I doubt the expectations will fade. There's a dichotomy between a wakefulness promoting agent - eugeroics (hydrafinil, modafinil, adrafinil, etc) to a stimulant (cocaine, amphetamine, ephedrine/clenbuterol, caffeine, etc).

I can say the most profound difference is when I take clenbuterol (no other stimulants taken, including caffeine), I'll literally feel tired very often.. it doesn't promote wakefulness at all but I'm still jittery as hell. I wish people would realize the distinction a bit more before jumping to expectations, as you're saying.

For sure. I see all these people thinking that modafinil is going to be a replacement for dopaminergics like amphetamine. More often than not, I think they are setting themselves up for disappointment. Eugeroics are way different than dopaminergic stimulants.

Yep, my fault guys. I'll just stop posting, and things will get better. It's all on me... You can all go back to caffeine/L-theanine, long winded modafinil, and "does piracetam work" posts. No need to advance the communi

What is the best nootropic for someone looking primarily for a boost of energy and motivation that's stronger than caffeine but less extreme than amphetamines?

6mg of melatonin is too much. I take .5-1mg. Melatonin has been shown to be much more effective at lower doses. Lower your dose and see how that works. 6mg would mean a very hard time waking up, and hours of foggyness in

Nootropics on a developing brain

First off, you are not really going at this from a nootropic standpoint. You are heavily reliant on multiple stimulants. You are hitting your adenosine receptors with the caffeine. You are hitting the histamine system wi

Multiple nootropics: Bell-shaped response curve still in effect?

It's really very complicated. There is competitive binding affinities you have to consider. Plus, downstream mechanisms that may alter the effects. Not to mention the varying level of responses between different people.

Smart drugs: A dose of intelligence

Replying to BigYellowLemon · I have never read an article about nootropics that left me with anything but anger and annoyance. The only "nootropics" I ever hear about are methylphenidate, modafinil, caffeine

It's because the people that actually have something to say don't want to talk, and the people that want to talk have nothing to say. Did the world need another article about amphetamine, methylphenidate, and modafinil?
