Just tried tianeptine for the first time. All it did was make me EXHAUSTED. Is this a common side effect?

No affect on mood or cognition, just extremely tired and a bit antsy. Is this common?

Is Stablon anti-noradrenergic, or simply neutral in that regard?

Tianeptine acutely increases NE in preoptic area, parietal sensory cortex, and dorsal raphe. It decreases NE in the dentate gyrus. It also decreases NE turnover in the dorsal raphe, parietal sensory cortex, and the parietal motor cortex. However, it is more complicated than that.
It has been shown that the elevated NE levels are not being released into the synapse, but is accumulating in the terminals. So even though it is increasing NE levels in the brain, that NE is not being released into the synapse to bind to its receptors. This is the opposite in the dentate gyrus. Tianeptine increases NE release in the brain region, and increases its synthesis.
So there is less norepinephrine release in the preoptic area, parietal sensory cortex, and dorsal raphe, but increases in NE production. There is more NE release in the dentate gyrus, with the same increase in NE production.
