I was exploring lithium when I came across this article. I'm not familiar with these statistics but it sure is interesting to see they had a statistically significant inverse relationship between suicide and lithium levels in the drinking water. There could be confounding variables but it would be hard to control for such variables when looking retrospectively.

According to this study we would have to stratify the two towns to accommodate for the other variables such as: population density, per capita income, proportion of Roman Catholics, psychiatrist density, psychotherapist density, general practitioner density, and unemployment rate.
Oh and add a placebo town to the mix too

Yes, we should add a few more towns in for good measure. Maybe see if we can bring the New Orleans crime rate down with some lithium, or bring it up in Topeka Kansas with some lead!
