Does anybody have a link to / know anything about / if Methylphenidate has neurotoxic effects on the brain after continuous administration, especially as it relates to serotonin transporters? I am currently prescribed to take Amphetamine for ADHD, but am begin to notice some serotonin neurotoxicity-like effects, ie heightened anxiety when not on the medication. Is methylphenidate healthier?

Still well tolerated after almost 15 years of varied use here. I've not read anything that would dissuade me from continuing to get a prescription for it.
Neuropharmacological mechanisms underlying the neuroprotective effects of methylphenidate.
Methylphenidate exerts no neurotoxic, but neuroprotective effects in vitro.

Remember that paper I linked you showing long-term methylphenidate use caused loss of dopamine terminals? I'll have to try and find it again.
It is a lot safer than amphetamines, for sure.
