Antidepressant effects of ketamine: mechanisms underlying fast-acting novel antidepressants

Have you experienced any paradoxical anger or irritation on tianeptine? So far I've isolated it to causing peace and relaxation one moment... and for the majority of the time.... but if there's an obnoxious, annoying or irritating stimulus- like a loud fan, feedback from a mic, a persisting/meowing cat, it is significantly more grating than usual, to the point that I desperately want to make it stop- these are everyday sounds I'm maybe slightly bothered by normally but easily tune out.
That, and it feels like some emotions like sadness or anger kind of bubble up without warning and fade just as quickly. Usually quite reserved and calm, so its weird.

I have not experienced this, but my girlfriend has. The fist time she tried tianeptine it made her irritable. I think it has to to do with serotonin system sensitivity. Since it has SSRE actions, it does lower serotonin levels acutely. Your body should up-regulate your receptors in response to that. However, it may make you emotional until that happens.
I am used to serotonin system changes, with my previous depression and experience with serotonergic drugs. So I think I am more used to changes in serotonin level, and do not let it affect my mood as much.
