It's time to have the Modafinil talk again.

It's been seven months since I made this post: http://www.reddit.com/r/Nootropics/comments/199n7l/modafinil_posts/
We had a lull in the modafinil posts for a while, but now they are back in full swing. I just want to remind everyone that this is a subreddit for discussing all nootropics, not just beating modafinil to death. Many of the recent posts are on topics that have been answered many times before, or belong in /r/StackAdvice. Please direct all personal questions about your specific stack to /r/StackAdvice, unless it is a strange reaction and/or is more of a general question about mechanisms. If you have a question about modafinil, please read the FAQ first. If you still have questions, use the search function before making your post. I can almost guarantee there are multiple posts dealing with your issue/question.
Our intent here is not to dissuade new users from posting, or to make you feel unwelcome. However, many users get tired of constantly seeing the same posts over and over regarding modafinil. Many of those users are then less likely to post new and interesting information. So it is in all of our best interest to keep…

I realize that members/browsers of this sub should read the sidebar and whole FAQ before posting, but the abundance of unoriginal modafinil posts is a pretty clear indication that many newcomers do not do so. I hate to overstep my bounds with a suggestion, but maybe the mods could put something in the sidebar about modafinil?
Obviously in a perfect world such specifics would be unnecessary, but modafinil is popular, available, and frankly... it works. Many people turn to nootropics for motivation just as much as they do for memory, verbal fluidity and neuroplasticity. As long as modafinil is the champ of non-amphetamine stimulation, people are going to hear about it, then come to this sub and make an ignorant post.
This post will only be on the front page of this sub for a few days. A note in the sidebar telling people to search/read-up on modafinil could be a permanent deterrent.

That's true. Perhaps we need a direct link to the modafinil FAQ section in the sidebar. That might catch people's eye a little better.
