Why do I feel so serene when I am "coming down" from MDMA

I feel long periods of emotional clarity combined with a willfulness that I normally lack.
Does this happen to anyone else? What about while on other substances? The initially "high" is not as appealing or enjoyable as this ability to efficiently use my feelings.

well, 4-AcO-DMT isn't dumping serotonin into the synapse like MDMA. 4-AcO-DMT interacts with serotonin receptors directly unlike MDMA which interacts with presynaptic transporter proteins to dump serotonin.
TL;DR: MDMA is serotonin depleting while 4-AcO-DMT is not

You don't think I understand the pharmacology of the two substances? I've had much better afterglows on MDMA than I have on 4-ACO-DMT. That was not my point. My point was that set and setting play a much larger role in afterglows, and rolls themselves, than people traditionally think.
