Modafinil + antihistamines (bad idea)

Yesterday I took a cetirizine (an antihistamine) tablet in order to alleviate some cold symptoms. It works for about a day or two.
The next day I took modafinil (200 mg) in the morning, and what surprised me was that cetirizine seems to have TOTALLY killed modafinil's workings. I didn't feel it AT ALL... I have taken it without antihistamines before and it was a completely different experience.
So, is modafinil mainly working on histamine levels or something? I didn't notice any extra focus or dopaminergic effects when combining an antihistamine with modafinil.

I take 3-4 cetirizine every day. I have for over 10 years, without a single break longer than 24 hours. Modafinil works perfectly fine for me. Of course I have never tried it without antihistamines. Perhaps the good effects I am getting are nothing compared to what I could get without cetirizine. Or perhaps there is little interaction at all.
Cetirizine has low blood brain barrier permeability, so it should not affect modafinil's mechanism too much. Perhaps you are just sensitive to cetirizine. I certainly am not.
