whats the down side of increased peripheral levels of serotonin? , you don't become schizoid from the peripheral nervous system being damped, and muscle control is acetylcholine.
edit : or...would the 5htp use the enzyme and thus increase levels of dopamine?

Potential heart valve damage, and you are wasting your 5-HTP. 5-HTP would compete for the same enzyme as L-DOPA, so dopamine levels would fall.
