Why is Examine.com pitching us with a gross long-form sales letter?

I understand what you are saying, but our opinions on the subject don't really matter.
As could be said about most any internet conversation. You might as well quit reddit if that's your actual opinion. I don't think marginalizing the discussion is very helpful. This conversation does matter because the stakeholders are involved and this does have influence.

I am not marginalizing your opinion. I am simply stating that a website giving out a free service does not owe us anything. If they feel a marketing plan that goes against what you and I feel is effective, then they are free to move forward with that plan.
We are not being forced to pay anything, or even change the way we have been using their free service. They have simply put up a page that we don't even need to look at again. If they had put certain pages behind a paywal, and forced their current user base to pay to see selected content, then I would be more inclined to agree with your sentiment. However, we don't need to change anything we have been doing, and still have access to everything we always have.
So until they explicitly ask me for my opinion on their new marketing plan, I really don't see how this is a topic to get riled up over.
