Why is Examine.com pitching us with a gross long-form sales letter?

My qualm is not that they are monetizing. It's the way they are doing it.

You are not their target market. I understand what you are saying, but our opinions on the subject don't really matter. We are not going to purchase a subscription anyway, so the manner in which they are marketing is irrelevant.

Now if they brought me in to consult on the best manner in which to monetize their site, I would definitely go a different route. However, they are not really asking for our help in making their marketing plan more profitable.
