Awesome, thanks!
However, you can definitely get the appropriate amount of L-carnosine from dietary sources.
So I'll assume a ketogenic diet qualifies me in the protein consumption department. ;)
The EGCG is much harder, because it takes high plasma concentrations to reach high enough concentrations in the brain. This pretty much means you have to supplement EGCG in some way.
The main difference is I'll be supplementing EGCG every day instead of only on the rare occasions when I use 5-HTP. Though not sure how I'll time it, since 5-HTP goes with melatonin at night, but I take the rest of my stack in the morning.
Of course with long term supplements like this it is really hard to keep up the motivation. "In 30 years I'll appreciate having taken this every day!" Compared to the instant hit from L-Theanine which provides a positive response right off the bat!
Caffeine has this effect as well, which is why tea can be helpful on it's own. However, you need to drink a lot of tea to see the benefits.
Caffeine increase anxiety way too much. One reason why when someone comes on here or /r/ADHD the first thing I do is ask "so what is your caffeine consumption like?"
(And then when the person taking Adderall and complaining of anxiety reports they are drinking 8 cups of coffee a day, I'll politely suggest they go cold turkey and come back after a few weeks. ;) )

Yeah, you should be good with the keto diet. If you are supplementing the EGCG at night, make sure you have a low caffeine brand. Some don't take steps to remove the caffeine, and can keep people up.
