Discussion: nootropics/supplements that aid the prevention or reverse the neurotoxic/cardiotoxic effects of Adderall

Just wanted to pool everyone's ideas into one thread. I got the idea from my last post when /u/waqwarrior posted about being able to reduce some of the negative effects of adderall. Can anyone else add to this short list or include sources for the ones already here? Also I realize that this list isn't for everyone but for those that do take it I think it would be helpful. Secondly, I am interested in reversal of negative effects because I am quitting tonight and would like to know my options. Thanks!

From his post:
>It is a fact that amphetamine is a powerful stimulant, though. This will increase the firing of glutamatergic receptors. Glutamate is an excitatory neurotransmitter. An overabundance of glutamate firing can lead to cell death, which is the last thing you want. L-Theanine mildly blocks NMDA and kainate receptors, which give it mildly neuroprotective effects - it's preventing (or at the least lessening) the negative effects of overexcitation. It also boosts GABA production; GABA is inhibitory, essentially glutamate's opposite (though it functions much differently, this comparison works for a simple explanation).
The type of stress your cells are under is often referred…

Selegiline is a selective MAOI that prevents oxidative damage from dopamine. It has been used effectively with amphetamine.

There is also memantine to protect your NMDA channels from excitotoxicity.

A highly bioavailable magnesium supplement is also a must. I always have good results with magnesium glycinate, but there are other forms like taurate, L-theonate, malate, etc.

The combination of ALA and ALCAR is very effective in preventing oxidative damage. I would highly suggest adding that.

This is part of the wholesale price list for "Nammex", the supplier of mushroom powders that many companies repackage/encapsulate and sell for a huge profit margin

Replying to eclecticlove1 · Exclusive, secret suppliers that definitely aren't Nammex. Got it

Do you really think I am going to tell you the name of our current suppliers after you made a fake company to get Nammex's price list, then publicly released it on Reddit? Go ask Verdure who manufactures their Longvida,

Memantine has helped a lot of people lower their amphetamine dose to lower amounts, while still maintaining or improving the effects. You also need to have a bioavailable magnesium supplement every day. Magnesium glycina
