That's how it works in the States, too.

Canadians in upstate NY used to speed, get tickets, and plaster the wall of a rest stop with their tickets. This was before the border crossing guards actually started checking passports and shit, though.

Well to enter Australia I need an electronic visa approval each time. I figured it would electronically link to their traffic ticket system, since that's what the ticket they sent me said. However, they've approved the visas twice since that ticket, and have let me in with no issues.
