After all of my nootropic experience I have only one question to this community.

Why would any one seeking clarity of mind consume alcohol or marijuana?
Edit: I should've know that reddits absolute affinity for pot was too grand. Marijuana diminishes short term memory. Alcohol is poison. Both of these statements are fact based on countless studies. Do I really have to resort to sourcing. I can't help but be snarky when someone makes a case for alcohol on a nootropic form.
Edit2: I've consumed Marijuana in the past, in fact a fair amount. I've also had a number of profound psychedelic experiences. What I'm not about to do is advocate their use as a nootropic of common use. I see so many marijuana based responces and post on this sub. This isn't r/drug.

Alcohol fogs my sense of reality. It separates me from reality, and even though it can be fun at certain times is not my preference. Marijuana on the other hand shines a bright light on all the things I never notice. It makes mundane scenery become picturesque in certain ways. In a way, I put nootropics on the same level. Despite the heightened sense of understanding and rush of synaptic dis-inhibition it is still an altered state. All these things are like putting on special glasses, you see the world in a different perspective.

You see, I am the opposite. Having a good craft beer causes my brain to start remembering happy times in my past. It triggers memories that I love reliving in my head. Marijuana cuts my link to the world off most of the time. It has it's place on some occasions, but it's not for me on a regular basis. Everyone is different.
