Let's talk Lil Wayne and cough syrup

To be honest, I could give two shits about Lil Wayne I never really enjoyed any of his music. But after this media blitz about him seizing I'm very confused as to what people think "purple drank" is. Every story mentions codeine but does drinking too much codeine cause seizures? I've never heard of that side effect in anything labeled as an opiate.
Which brings me to DXM, NMDA receptor antagonists do lower your seizure threshold. I don't know what the laws are in the states but you can't buy codeine over the counter in Canada, so when someone says purple drank around here they usually mean robotussin.
So are these rappers actually robo-tripping instead of taking opiates? It just makes much more sense if you look at the lyrics of what they describe it as. Slang can be very innaccurate or make no sense whatsoever so are they drinking DXM and just saying codeine instead?

That's not a bad thing. Sort of like coffee (caffeine) is one of the weakest stimulants you can use. That's great when you need a pick me up but don't want to be FUCKED for the next like 24 hours. And it's dirt cheap.
Codeine is really cheap, especially compared to harder opiates. Mostly because it's OTC everywhere that's basically not the US, so people shift it around and you can get it super cheap.
Those like me, who are super light weights and keep tolerance down, codeine seems like a good idea. Personally I went to kratom because I can do an ethanol extract and get a buzz that's close to 20 mg of hydrocodone, which is my perfect dose. (Like I said, super light weight :P)

I've got 8 different strains of kratom right now. I'm about to make a blend and go out for St. Patrick's day. Kratom is great!
I assume your ethanol extract hits harder but doesn't last as long?
