One week of L-Theanine

Today marks one week from beginning my first nootropic journey with L-Theanine. My current stack is Inositol (18g a day for OCD) and L-Theanine (plus coffee everyday.)
Stack Dosage: 400mg L-Theanine with coffee in the morning. 6g inositol 3x a day.
As of day one I experienced a more relaxed mental state and now I still feel much more relaxed than normal and my ability to focus on tasks (particularly programming) is much improved.
I've been listening to trance/house music while programming now and I've found that the music actually moves to the background of my conscious mind allowing me to focus for extended period of times. I've tried listening to music before while programming but it's usually too distracting to get anything done while it's playing but that's not the case any longer.
Another notable effect is that my dreams are much clearer with definitive "plots" to them versus scattered unmemorable ones. Also, my sleep cycles seem much more regulated and I get tired at the same time every night which is amazing to me.
The only downside I've noticed is that when the effects wear off (usually around 3) I feel a bit clouded mentally for an hour or so. This could also be due…

I have used L-Theanine for a few weeks now and it has an interesting mix of being relaxing and a stimulant at the same time. In addition its relaxing effects work very well together with coffeine.
I had tried a few other nootropics together with it. Piracetam didn't give much, so I stopped it, especially since where I live it's a prescribtion drug.
What I can definitely recommend is to add L-Thyrosin. It seems to work in a similar fashion for me, focusing a bit more on the concentration and stimulating effects.
(Beyond that i take some B vitamins and Omega-3, but that is more long term stuff, no immediate effect as far as I can tell)

Do not take L-tyrosine for too long, as it can affect your serotonin production. You are skipping one of the rate-limiting steps in your body's natural process of producing dopamine and norepinephrine. This wouldn't be such a big deal if dopamine and serotonin did not use the same enzyme for production. However, since they both use aromatic L-amino acid decarboxylase, bypassing a rate limiting step for one of them is going to eventually lead to levels of the other falling. This is why I tell people not to take 5-HTP for too long, and it's the same reason I am telling you this now. Taking DLPA (phenylalanine) is going to maintain that rate-limiting step of phenylalanine hydroxylase before converting in vivo to L-tyrosine, while still giving your body what it needs to raise DA levels.
