One week of L-Theanine

Today marks one week from beginning my first nootropic journey with L-Theanine. My current stack is Inositol (18g a day for OCD) and L-Theanine (plus coffee everyday.)
Stack Dosage: 400mg L-Theanine with coffee in the morning. 6g inositol 3x a day.
As of day one I experienced a more relaxed mental state and now I still feel much more relaxed than normal and my ability to focus on tasks (particularly programming) is much improved.
I've been listening to trance/house music while programming now and I've found that the music actually moves to the background of my conscious mind allowing me to focus for extended period of times. I've tried listening to music before while programming but it's usually too distracting to get anything done while it's playing but that's not the case any longer.
Another notable effect is that my dreams are much clearer with definitive "plots" to them versus scattered unmemorable ones. Also, my sleep cycles seem much more regulated and I get tired at the same time every night which is amazing to me.
The only downside I've noticed is that when the effects wear off (usually around 3) I feel a bit clouded mentally for an hour or so. This could also be due…

From my understanding Tyrosine & Tryptophan definitely compete for conversion & BBB transport, but I haven't seen any evidence that daily Tyrosine supplementation can actually create a CNS HT/DA imbalance. I've supplemented for months at 1200-2400 mg/day depending on workouts and have only noticed positive effects on mood, motivation, & energy. I'd definitely be interested in reading any materials you can provide on HT/DA amino precursors triggering CNS imbalance though.

I also have not seen scientific studies on the matter. However, there are many anecdotes of L-tyrosine supplementation causing mood issues when take for long periods of time. Given the known mechanisms, the enzyme competition is the most likely cause. It's probably going to vary from person to person. I'm not sure if there is even a way to get accurate CNS catecholamine level measurements in live subjects.
