Bupropion (Wellbutrin) as a nootropic?

I was doing some research, and it turns out that Wellbutrin, which is commonly prescribed as an anti-depressant and as a quit-smoking aid, is actually considered substituted phenethylamine (notice anything else on that list?). It's not an SSRI or anything in that class, instead it works through norepinephrine-dopamine reuptake inhibition. Essentially it should increase the amount of dopamine in your system. Off-label it's been used for ADHD, sexual dysfunction, even weight loss. It's safe except for a slight increase of the chance of seizure.

Nootropic means nontoxic and very low side effect profile. If you mean cognitive enhancer, I would think the side effect profile would outweigh the possible cognitive enhancement. Most people I have spoken to who take bupropion hate it.
