What is the best nootropic for someone looking primarily for a boost of energy and motivation that's stronger than caffeine but less extreme than amphetamines?

I've been trying to get into a workout routine but I'm hitting a roadblock in regards to my motivation and energy level. I have issues sleeping so I take 6mg of melatonin each night. This works great for getting me to bed and I feel fine on the days I get to sleep in as late as I want but when I have to forcibly wake myself up early I get stuck in this cloud of lethargy and apathy where I have no energy to do anything and no motivation to even try. This, of course, makes working out, even from home, a chore and a bore.
I'm pretty new to the whole nootropics thing and I understand certain nootropics work best to help certain aspects of your life or mental processing and others won't do much of anything to help, so can anyone suggest something to give me an energy boost that's stronger than caffeine but not as jittery/euphoric as amphetamines and perhaps something to clear up the apathy and give me a little more focus and motivation?
Thanks!

I'm serious!
Although nootropics shouldn't be psychoactive, I also have a lot of experience with drugs. So, for me, the psychoactive effects of the amphetamine high + the euphoria of a light psilocybin dosage do not distract me from the beneficial effects of the combo.
Just like a well-mixed drink that has other sour/sweet flavors to offset the harsh edge of alcohol, psilocybin appears to compliment the vyvanse. Basically, instead of being in that anxious amphetamine bubble of intense focus, the bit of shroom gives you a nice body high that keeps you tethered to reality (this is very important for avoiding the "I was certain that my answers were correct, but I failed the exam" effect of the amphetamine high).
Feel free to ask more questions :)

Ohh I don't doubt that the synergy would feel great. I do doubt that it is actually enhancing cognition, though. Not to mention, tolerance would buildup crazy fast. You will have DA receptor down-regulation, 5-HT2A downregulation, NMDA receptor desensitization, and possibly excitotoxicity.
Have you done any objective testing to see if there are concrete results?
