They are not an issue if sufficient enough time has passed from the initial posting. A repost tag would simply inform people that they are not trying to karma whore as badly, or at least that they are being honest about it. It's kind of sad to see someone find a cool picture or article on the internet, then get robbed of their karma because someone immediately reposts it to a bigger subreddit. It was just an idea.

To be fair, I would not categorize religious people as weak-willed. I see religion as a crutch. A crutch that one uses till they can grow into the ability to be at peace with reality. This does not make them weak willed.
