Did shipping just get even more expensive?

As you can see here the "Handling" adds so much extra on top of the shipping price, $56 for Fedex and $67 for DHL which is honestly nuts. It's a lot lower if I choose the much slower "Standard Worldwide Mail" shipping method and is only $2 then. I'm confused because this extra handling price didn't happen with my previous orders which I used Fedex for, did something change?

They're not fees from us. It's a remote area delivery fee that the mail carriers charge for his address in Norway. It's just separated out because that's how the table rates for his zone are set. Many international addresses get assessed remote area fees by the private carriers, because they don't want to drive routes in those areas, so they add on a ton of fees to it. I've seen it as high as $100 for some addresses.
