I realized I posted the pic of the wrong bottle yesterday but the capsules are definitely both saffron. ND site on left, Amazon on right. Has this happened to anyone before?

The biggest concern for counterfeits on Amazon is "Sold by [3rd Party], Fulfilled by Amazon" or "Sold and Shipped by [3rd Party]". "Sold and Shipped by Amazon" has much tighter inventory control than those other two types of listings.

As long as it says "Sold By Nootropics Depot" on our listings you are safe. This is especially true if it says "Shipped By Nootropics Depot" as that means it is coming direct from our warehouse to you. However, our FBA listings are secure as well. We have a brand lock on our account, and are always monitoring listings to ensure we don't get hijacked. We also have a dedicated SAS Core team to fix things quickly. It's been many years since any of our listings were hijacked.
The "Sold and Shipped by Amazon" only comes into play if you are part of the Amazon Vendor Program (1P Program). That's where Amazon buys wholesale from brands and sells direct to customers. We are not part of that program, and sometimes they do shady things. NOW Foods is part of that program, and when they were bringing in some bad press about Amazon by releasing failing test results, Amazon actually stopped ordering from them for a bit. This caused them to run out of stock on Amazon. They also have complete control of pricing, and will force you to agree to their margins. This can work for brands that are already set up through in-store distribution, as the margins normally going to the distributor can make up the difference for what Amazon wants. We are not set up that way. We just don't have the margins other brands do, which is why we are not in stores or on other resellers. Most distributors want 50% margins for themselves before you even get to the individual store's margins. Our product cost and overhead is too high to make that work. I've basically created a vertically integrated lab and research organization that also sells products. We just don't fit into the normal mold of other brands. I am trying to work on some operational efficiencies, and to increase volumes to amortize those fixed costs over more units to bring the per-unit cost down, but that is easier said than done.
