Resveratrol controversy?

I know there are lot of discussions about that but I’ve seen a lot of controversy around Resveratrol online, mostly about:
- Resveratrol may not be a useful supplement for longevity
- The effective dosage may be lower than 1000mg
- Resveratrol may affect endurance, sports performance
- It would be better to consume Resveratrol with fatty food (Yoghurt, olive oil, etc)
What is true ? What is your experience with Resveratrol? Did you notice any benefit, downside from using it ?

It's a good supplement that was over-hyped by David Sinclair, and because of all the drama surrounding him as a whole, has become a target for backlash. That doesn't mean it is useless or doesn't have benefits, though. Also, one of the biggest issues we have seen is almost everyone on the market is selling 20% or 50% extracts, because they are a lot cheaper per mg. However, we have found other compounds in Polygonum cuspidatum cause side effects, so using a pure 98% trans-resveratrol is a must. It just makes it more expensive per dose, which then has people choosing the cheaper options and getting side effects.
