Why did Nootropics Depot add Maltodextrin to Vitamin D?

I happened to be poking around products today and noticed that it now lists Maltodextrin as an additive. Maltodextrin heavily triggers my crohns disease and I find it to be a nasty additive. I recently got Vitamin D and thankfully it appears to not have maltodextrin in it. The old formula seemed to be working just fine, why would they add it in now? I'm just so thankful i didn't accidentally start taking one with maltodextrin in it, it would've been an absolute nightmare trying to track down what is suddenly triggering my crohns. Looks like I can no longer purchase vit d from ND :( Hass maltodextrin been added to anything else now?

Ya its hard not to feel like theyre cheaping out. Its also super annoying to have things added in with no notice, suddenly having health issues out of nowhere and not knowing why is a nightmare

It's actually more expensive, because we are using microencapsulated D3 to improve bioavailability. Many people were worried that non-oil-based d3 wouldn't work as well because of absorption issues. This is why we are using microencapsulated D3 to improve the absorption of the D3 in a solid tablet form. Many things out there are spray dried using maltodextrin, but they just don't list it on the label. We actually dig through the production flow charts to see how products are made, so we can ensure we are disclosing things to people that even the manufacturers are not disclosing on their spec sheets or COAs. I guarantee you that you are consuming multiple products every day with maltodextrin that just don't list it on the label. If you try the tablets and have issues, I will credit you for it, but I really doubt you will. I suppose we can consider a D3/K2 solution as an alternative for people that might have issues.
