Don't you need certain gut bacteria to metabolize it into urolithin-A though? Do we know what gut bacteria specifically and is it something we should worry about?

Yes, but that seems to happen to a reasonable level.

Metabolism of urolithin-A is the bigger hurdle. But yes, supplementing UA directly can get rid of one of the variables, just like supplementing GS15-4 takes that variable out of the ginsenoside equation.
