I think what’s baffling in regard to them using UV-VIS is that Derek even appears to be cognizant of the fact that it’s no longer the gold standard for botanical extracts. He even posted this study in reply to a comment that referenced you. I thought that was strange because no one in the thread (at the time) had even questioned him about analytical methods.
Moreover, I don’t see how that study even backs up his claim—it doesn’t appear to have anything that applies contextually here.

People don't understand analytical chemistry. Post some random somewhat plausible stuff, and the average person will not question it. That study he posted doesn't have anything to do with his claims at all.
You want to know why a UV-VIS method might show something that's not really there? There's no chromatographic separation! It's the UV detector on an HPLC without any of the separation of the compounds part. Do you want to guess what compound is similar to turkesterone and will fluoresce just like it when hit with UV light? Beta-ecysterone! The funny thing is we found around 10% beta-ecdysterone in their product. That's the fucking thing the UV-VIS is seeing!!! It's not turkesterone that garbage UV-VIS method is seeing. Shitty labs using shitty methods cause all this. Everyone wants a passing result. They don't want to fail samples and not sell product. So when you get a passing result from a lab, why question it? Till someone like me comes along and ruins the party, I guess.
Now I'm on my damn phone posting shit again! I'm going to bed. Full post tomorrow.
