NA-R-ALA and Hair Loss

I see a lot of companies selling their R-ALA/NA-R-ALA products 'optimized' with Biotin. It seems many people believe hair loss/brittle nails is a side effect of R-ALA and that biotin can mitigate these side effects.
I'm having trouble finding any evidence supporting or refuting this. Does anyone have knowledge or experience with this?

I haven't. I stopped all supplements for 3 months to see if the Rx my dr gave me did what he said it was going to do (it hasn't). So now I'm looking (sort of) for a stand alone one, bc the Nature Made b complex makes me break out

Yeah, that's the really shitty part for me, too. Biotin is known to cause breakouts. Anything that increases collagen can have that effect. Our bodies can be a pain in the ass sometimes. We need certain nutrients to prevent one thing, but they cause another...
