Opinion: This new popup thing makes the site look scammy.

There have been more pop-ups in general recently, like links to comparison articles or guides. While I believe they serve a purpose, they can be kind of annoying at times.(Especially to someone who's already read the articles/knows what they are doing)
It would be nice if you could make them less intrusive or keep the clutter to a minimum. I already liked the layout of the website from the very beginning and thought that everything was available in the proper places.

Yeah, I am torn on those as well. I personally hate popups or distracting things on sites. Remember how all the sites seemed to do those stupid spin the wheel for a discount popups for a while?!? I refused to even entertain that idea. However, sometimes we need to drive people to products that we think are interesting, but are slow sellers. Rephyll is a super cool product, but it doesn't have a lot of hype out there. This means it is a very slow seller, because people don't even know to try it. If that goes on too long, I have to consider dropping the product altogether. I personally keep products around a lot longer than my team would want, if I think they are good products. However, I can only hold off my team so long before we have to just drop a slow selling product. That Rephyll product popup has resulted in sales of it tripling, so it works to highlight products people might not have even looked at otherwise. However, is it worth the annoyance for those that don't want to see it? I am not sure yet. I personally hate things distracting me from my main purpose for going to a site, so I know where everyone is coming from. It's not like I am not thinking of these things. I am acutely aware of how it annoys me, so I know it annoys others as well. It's good getting feedback like this, because it helps me to balance whether or not something is worthwhile. If we are annoying 10,000 customers to sell an additional 300 units of something, is that worth it? I am not so sure.
