Those have been around for a while. It looks like someone on my team moved them to the top of the page, though. I will check to see what that is about. They have always been out of the way at the bottom.

I wouldn't doubt some companies just fake it. Ours actually pull from orders. It's just an add-on you can install on Bigcommerce. You can tell it how far back to look in the order history, how often to show the same one

I just went ahead and deactivated the social proof popups. I think it is too intrusive at the top now. Sometimes yelling at clouds works!

We do that and A/B testing on things. Our conversion rate is much higher than industry average, so I suppose we are not doing too bad.
