UK police seized shipment of phenibut

Just a warning for any other uk buyers, I ordered 180 phenibut capsules on the 31st but once it got into the uk it seemed to be delayed for a while until i got a letter from the police today saying it has been seized, I've just had a conversation with the officer in charge of the case and was told that while it is legal to posess it is also illegal to import it, fortunately they aren't pressing charges or investigating further.

I'm mainly just confused as some sources say differently about the legality and I have even seen posts on this subreddit about it being totally fine and that people usually get their orders so keep this in mind when you decide to buy.

Its Psychoactive Substances act most likely. Not brexit directly, apart from more customs checks.
OP could challenge it, there doesn't seem to much appetite to fight in courts, its a tricky case to win by cps since poppers are not psychoactive according to the act. Phenibut is less psychoactive than poppers in my mind. Cps has to prove that phenibut is psychoactive AND that OP should know that it is.
I have looked up court cases for kratom. I could only find cases where defendant pleaded guilty or case was dropped before trial. Other research showed that cps are using food standards laws for kratom now because its an easier case to win.

The Psychoactive Substances Act has been in place for years, and we have shipped hundreds of units of phenibut to the UK every month since it went into effect. This change happened Jan 1st, which coincides with Brexit going into effect.
