For anyone who ordered yesterday, has your shipping status updated?

Normally when I order, I get an email with the tracking info like within an hour and then later in the evening I get a text from Fed Ex once they have it and then texts for subsequent updates. However for the order I placed yesterday morning, I got the email with the tracking, but it hasn't updated yet and still says Fed Ex hasn't received it. So I don't know if it didn't go out yet or if it did but Fed Ex isn't scanning it. I thought there might be a chance of a delay because of increased orders on Friday and Monday, but when I ordered it still said it would ship same day so I didn't think it would be an issue.

Thank you for taking the time to type that all out, you make a lot of great points. Leaning more towards working alone now hahaha. Easier to control quality and employee satisfaction that way lol. That is probably the only way to be able to pull off a fully transparent financial record if I were to pursue that goal. Plus I think having employees would end up breaking me. Part of the reason I was never a drug dealer is the fact that I'd give everything away to everyone. It'd be hard for me to balance paying employees what I think they deserve and reinvesting in growth of the business. I guess I better just suck it up and go back to being an independent contractor. Got a couple things that I can consult for and make money off of luckily.

My pleasure! Yeah, anything with groups of people will always have drama. It's just a fact of life. Being a contractor in consulting before all this, I was used to coming into projects, working with people there, then going on my merry way. I was not used to building a team of people over years, then having to deal with all the HR stuff that entails. Being your own person as an independent contractor is a whole different world than trying to build a team of employees. Even if you run teams as a contractor, you are doing it in a totally different structure. It was a lot less stress back in my independent contracting days. I had to look out for myself, do what I needed to do on my projects, and then move on to the next one. It was nice and freeing. It was a totally different ballgame building this, though. At times it was a nightmare. I had to learn labor laws and regulations for what we are required to do in all sorts of crazy scenarios. For instance, what do you do if one of your employees tells his coworkers he is beating his wife? What are you legally required to do, and what are you legally not allowed to discuss in that scenario? I know that now, since I have been through it. What about health issues? This pandemic has made things very difficult, as we are not allowed to disclose health data from employees to other employees. However, what if their health status directly affects the health of other employees? What can you disclose to your other employees? What can't you disclose? What are you required to do in certain scenarios? COVID-19 has blurred the lines on some of those issues. When you start a company, you want to focus on whatever that company is providing. However, you are often dealing more with interpersonal office issues and HR problems, which can be a very frustrating thing. As an independent contractor you don't have to worry about any of that. I am lucky to have a good HR manager now, but for a while I was dealing with all sorts of issues myself. It takes a lot of patience.
