I took some time to research a bit more on polysorbate 20 and accelon.
So my conclusion is that polysorbate can be safe, but can also contain ethylene oxide or 1,4-dioxane. It isn't mentionned anywhere on basf's website that their polysorbate is pharmaceutical grade or tested for ethylene oxide or 1,4-dioxane presence.
They claim 4x higher absorption, but I'm sceptical. They don't link the studies, and I can't find them. How did they test? I'm sure the polysorbate allows for faster absorption. I wouldn't be surprised there is 4x more absorption after 1 or 2 hours. But I highly doubt it's 4x total absorption. My morning triple strenght omega 3 gelcaps probably gets very slowly absorbed in the morning, and then more when I eat at noon. But until I have seen a well made study demonstrating significantly higher total absorption, I won't believe their 4x higher absorption claim.
I also haven't been able to find any information on why polysorbate 20 wouldn't do the same thing as polysorbate 80 to the mucous membranes of the intestines.

Before we approved it, we got an official document from BASF stating there was no ethylene oxide present. It was dated March 6th 2020. We are getting the actual lab results from them now. Once they give them to us, I will share them with you. However, this is BASF. It's not some small time Chinese supplier. They are the largest chemical producer in the world. Not one of the largest, but the actual largest chemical producer in the entire world. They know what they are doing.

I linked the research on our launch post.

It has only been observed in polysorbate 80. Even so, the EFSA reevaluated their use and cited that study. They said that based on the dosages used in that study, the NOAEL (no-observed-adverse-effect level) of 2,500mg/kg bw/day was appropriate. That's a huge dose! The dose equivalent used in the mouse study that showed that effect on the intestines used, 7,500mg/kg bw/day. Massive! Again, this is not something people are ignoring. They assessed the data and came to the conclusion it was not clinically relevant at exposure levels that humans would be exposed to. We shouldn't ignore the scientific conclusions of the FDA, ESFA, and WHO because of an animal study that used extremely high doses.
