Curious question: Agmatine dose per capsule is low. Is there a reason?

This is just a curious question. Most brands out there that sell “agmatine” commonly sell 500mg capsules, while ND sells 250mg capsules. Are nootropic benefits found at this low of a dose? I just hear from many users that it may take up to 1-2g of agmatine to reach some sort of therapeutic effect. So I was wondering why the capsules are in the lower side.

The cognitive enhancing effects are seen in lower doses. It's the mood effects that usually use higher ones. It actually has differential effects based on the concentration.

At low concentration it is a positive allosteric modulator of A2A receptors, and at high concentrations it is a competitive inhibitor. This is likely why low doses are more nootropic, and high doses are more mood-regulating.
