Invest in a sleep tracker

These things aren't too bad at tracking deep and rem sleep. Plus they provide a way for you to see what your patterns are when it comes to sleep and how they change when you're taking student drugs.
It has recently helped me when my body decided it didn't like ashwagandha and I got very low deep sleep, after 4 days of discontinued usage I'm back to normal. Otherwise I would have never known that this was a problem until it got too bad to the point where I couldn't ignore it.
I knew it was a problem because after years of observing my ~~sorry~~sleep (typo- though it is not the best due to CPAP and sleep apnea) quality, the change was obvious, and I slowly introduced new drugs so I had a better idea of the root cause.
We are really bad at trying to figure out how healthy we are unless it's really obvious. These trackers provide an imperfect but objective measure we can use over time to check in and see how we're doing sleep-wise.

My Oura ring is the single best "biohacker" purchase I have ever made. I got a Dreem 2 to test out as well, but it is so inconvenient. You have to make sure it sits properly in it's stand or it won't charge. You have to put it on your head before bed, then open up the app and tell it you are starting your night. Then you have to wake up, open the app, tell it the night is over, then get it charging again. The Oura ring just stays on my finger and I don't have to do anything else. If I fall asleep on the couch it knows. I don't have to open the app and tell it I am sleeping. It sees I am. I just put it on it's little charger whole I am brushing my teeth in the morning and that's all the charging I need.
The only thing that I really liked about the Dreem 2 was that it could tell me how many times I turned in the night, and what side of my body I was on. That's kind of cool to see how many times I change sides. However, the most recent update in Oura shows movement now. It can't tell side, but at least you can see the movement now. So it gives me 90% of what I wanted to see. I leave it on all day, and I track my heart rate and temperature variability. I can immediately see what new supplements are doing to my sleep and resting heart rate. It's fantastic.
