About Lion's Mane and the fruiting body vs mycelia controversy.

I was reading this:

However, when examining the constituents of this effect, hericenones failed to stimulate NGF gene expression in primary cultured rat astroglial cells and 1321N1 human astrocytoma cells [17], suggesting that hericenones were not the key components responsible for the neuroprotective activities of this mushroom. On the other hand, the prominent beneficial effect of erinacine A was confirmed in the central nervous system in rats [18].

Erinacine A, the main representative of the erinacine group, not only has an enhancing effect on NGF synthesis in vitro [12] but also can increase NGF and catecholamine content in the locus coeruleus and hippocampus of rats after administration (8 mg/kg body weight) [18].

Erinacines are groups of cyathin diterpenoids that show biological activities as stimulators of NGF synthesis and could be useful as a treatment for neurodegenerative disorders and peripheral neuropathy [19].

As the fruiting body was reported to contain no erinacines [26], the best option would be to enhance erinacine production in H. erinaceus mycelia via submerged fermentation under constantly controlled culture parameters.

Well, that was an extraordinary explanation. Thank you. As always, you have surpassed my expectations. It is a pleasure to read you, and I am growing impatient for the revolution in the mushroom market that I am sure that you are going to bring sooner than later. I am aware of the trickery with mycelium and brown rice, and I find it despicable. I hate regulations, because they are usually a tool for control applied by the governments in favor of private interests, but this wild west situation that we have in the supplement market, at least in some aspects of said market, has to end.

Trust me, nobody is more frustrated by the time it is taking than I am! I want to release all this data! You know how hard it is for me to continually bite my tongue while other brands out there are misleading people, and I have internal data proving that?!? It's eating me up inside! However, I would be a hypocrite if I released data before we validated it. That's been my whole argument for years. So I have to bite my tongue for a little bit longer till we validate things. However, once that happens I am going to go on an outward offensive to get the truth out like I have never done before. Anyone making claims on their shit better pray they are right, because I am going to go after everyone. I talk to our main lion's mane researcher regularly about claims people are making, and he is even more harsh than I am. He says people are idiots and their science is bullshit. He goes through the "evidence" people cite, and says they are complete morons. I just want to make absolutely sure we are 100% right on things, and we have validations to prove that, before I really start calling people out. The last thing I want is to pull the trigger too early and have to backtrack. I value the trust people put in me, so I need to live up to that standard.

So we had to deal with some pretty big lawsuits last year. I wish I could say that is new, but I deal with half a dozen lawsuits every year. I just settled one two days ago, in fact. I have two more I am dealing with rig

This is part of the wholesale price list for "Nammex", the supplier of mushroom powders that many companies repackage/encapsulate and sell for a huge profit margin

Replying to eclecticlove1 · So where do you get the powder for the 8:1 dual phase extract?

We have our own suppliers, just like we do for all our ND branded products. They make it to our specifications. Then we test them in our lab for ID, content, beta-glucans, heavy metals, and now residual solvent residues.

Why the lion's mane you're buying is probably bunk.

First off, our Lion's Mane is not a traditional water extract. The water is used to break down the chitin in the cell walls, but the entire mushroom material is kept in. So you don't lose anything that you would with a f

We are absolutely NOT done with new products. We are in the thick of development for a bunch of them. Some of them are just taking longer than expected to get perfect, so we have had a lull in releases. That's just becau
