Below is my experience with every nootropic I’ve experimented with for the purposes of increasing the effectiveness of stimulants (namely Vyvanse, caffeine, and nicotine) while reducing tolerance, dependence and side effects.
NAC:
Purpose: Reducing stimulant neurotoxicity and dependence
MOA: Modulates glutamate and prevents excessive dopamine release
Positive Effects: After two weeks of concurrent use with stimulants, NAC eliminated all withdrawal symptoms from Vyvanse, caffeine, and nicotine on my stimulant off-days. Seems to reduce cravings for rewarding activities such as cannabis use and binge eating. While on stimulants, it helps me direct my focus towards productive tasks rather than instantly rewarding activities (e.g mindlessly browsing reddit). Reduces the side effects of stimulants and eliminates the comedown.
Negative Effects: Seems to blunt the euphoric effects of Vyvanse, but does not negatively affect its therapeutic benefits for ADHD.
Magnesium L-Threonate
Purpose: Reducing tolerance, and the peripheral CNS side effects associated with stimulant use.
MOA: Acts as a NMDA antagonist, preventing glutamate excitotoxicity

Hopefully it won't come to that. We have been working hard for months to try and prevent it from affecting us.
