The Melanocortin system (which MIF-1 effects)
-
Recently, I have been researching quite a bit about the Melanocortin system and its therapeutic potential. One of the most interesting things I found was this article from Stanford Medicine. The article talks about the discovery of a possible molecular mechanism responsible for an important and debilitating symptom of Depression: Anhedonia (i.e. apathy, lack of pleasure, interests, and motivation).

It turns out that the Melanocortin pathway is deeply involved in the brain's reward circuitry. Studies in the past have suggested that chronic stress leads to an increase of the Melanocortin hormone in the brain in addition to an increase of Melanocortin receptors in the Nucleus Accumbens (region involving reward and motivation).

What was found according to this article, was that **chronic stress (found to increase Melanocortin), as well as direct administration of Melanocortin in mice, lead to a decrease in the signaling strength of nerve cells in the *Nucleus Accumben…

I am actually really interested in hearing /u/MisterYouAreSoDumb thoughts on this. It would be great if this could be made available through Ceretropic. I think many people could benefit from this.

Dipeptide analogs of piracetam, noopept, sulpiride,... exhibiting far superior potency and specificity to their putative mechanisms.

They are not talking about analogs of noopept. Noopept IS the analog they are discussing. The other compounds are not analogs of piracetam, either. They took inspiration from some of the functional groups, but they are V

Negative. This is a brand new peptide we developed with no human clinical research, or any research of any kind. It should be treated as a research compound, and should not be purchased based on anecdotal effect statemen
