ITPP (Myo-Inositol TrisPyroPhosphate) for Alertness

Original post in this thread

I recently received another shipment of ITPP (myo-inositol trispyrophosphate) as I had run out a while ago and wanted it for ski trips this winter.

For those not familiar, ITPP essentially increases the proportion of oxygen released from hemoglobin during each cycle through the cardiovascular system and back to the lungs, by acting as an allosteric effector to mildly reduce the oxygen binding affinity of hemoglobin. See, e.g.:

The effects seem to last about a week or two, since it accumulates in red blood cells. Newly-produced RBCs will not have any, so periodic re-dosing is necessary to cover RBC turnover. See, e.g.: http://www.pnas.org/content/106/6/1926.full

I have seen some attempts in the community to use ordinary IP6 (myo-inositol hexaphosphate) for the same purpose, but IP6 cannot cross the RBC cell membranes due to its charge distribution so it is not useful when taken orally: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2644140/pdf/zpq1926.pdf -- whereas ITPP can…

Indeed. Although it does last a week or two.

Yet IP6 is cheap, and the synth is simple. Market inefficiency someone should fill.

Wonder if /u/MisterYouAreSoDumb might be interested in bulk ITPP.

u/MisterYouAreSoDumb · Ceretropic & Nootropics Depot

Probably not, as it is synthetic and on the WADA list.
