Activating the α4β2 and α3β4 nACHRs enhances GABA signaling. Antagonizing α3β4 reduces GABA signaling, and should up-regulate GABA receptors.

It's a partial allosteric modulator. So it can actually reduce signaling, similar to a partial agonist. Since it seems to be reducing signaling at a1 and a5, that explains why it does not impair cognitive functions, and
