Stability of peptides in propylene glycol
Original post in this thread

There was quite of a talking about preserving the stability/preventing the breakdown of peptides in a solution by using deionized water instead of the regular one, but what about propylene glycol?
Is a peptide stable in a 100%-solvent solution of propylene glycol (and maybe kept at low temps)?

It depends on the peptide and the pH of your solution. Why do you want it in PG? Peptides are going to be the most stable as a lyophilized powder in a sealed vial, then stored in the fridge (up to a year) or the freezer (a year or more). So if you want to store the peptides for long periods, just do it that way. Then you can make a solution of them when you are ready to use them.
