Caffeine question
Original post in this thread

I normally drink one cup of coffee around 9:00am (~75-100mg) each day and have been in this pattern for months now. The effects are pretty bland. Today I decided to avoid caffeine until 2pm and just had my first cup. It has had a major impact on energy levels. Just wondering if anyone here can explain the difference. I really wish I could drink coffee and get benefits like this more often.

That's because your cortisol levels are high in the AM, then drop throughout the day. When you take caffeine at the height of cortisol, the effects are not as pronounced. However, when you take caffeine later in the day, when your cortisol is lower, it has a much more pronounced stimulation effect.
