Does anyone else feel like L-Theanine depresses them?

Whenever I drink Green Tea, I experience a slight depression in mood as opposed to a mood lift. The same thing happens when I take L-Theanine capsules: a slight, but definite, depression, even when mixed with caffeine. I don't get it. Does anyone else get this?

Just price and popularity over using something like rakuten for grocery store or amazon. No heavy metal testing that I'm aware of. Not particularly concerned with my high intake of spirulina. tbh I just avoid tea from china, and old tea (theoretically higher accumulation in the leaves, the longer the plant has been in the ground - matcha should be using younger leaves and from smaller plants).
Heh, maybe /u/misteryouaresodumb should enter the tea market and resell lab tested batches of tea.

Perhaps at some point. I need to purchase some more equipment to do it right. We would need UV-VIS and NIR. I have the NIR beamsplitter on our IS50. I just need to purchase the NIR probe add-on. The UV-VIS is a separate piece from Thermo. We have been thinking about it. Just need to get back to normal, and get cash flow going again.
I did find some HPLC methods for testing the EGCG, epigallocatechin, epicatechingallate, epicatechin, catechin, caffeine, theophylline and theobromine content of tea leaves. They are pretty complex. We have everything needed to do it, though.
