GABA ethyl ester idea

There's not much info on this at all (since I can't find the original Russian data) but if one were to make an ethyl ester of GABA (really simple) it would cross the BBB. Has anyone tried this? It has the potential to be a useful and mild alternative to drugs like phenibut.
One of the issues definitely worth noting is that most of the stuff won't make it past first-pass if it were ingested orally.
Also worth noting is that phenibut ethyl ester is considerably more active, and apparently more toxic. Which could explain why there are such noteworthy effects when drinking on phenibut. But I'm not sure if a clinically-notable amount of phenibut ethyl ester would be created in vivo regardless of how much alcohol is consumed.

It would be cool if /u/MisterYouAreSoDumb was working on some cool gaba products. I respond by far the best to chemicals that work on gaba (probably because they generally lower my anxiety and let me think clearly)
