Tyrosine and l-tyrosine

Hey just a quick question. Is tyrosine and l-tyrosine the same thing?
I've seen l-tyrosine suggested to take when taking ritalin at doses of 500mg with people saying max 1g a day.
I went to my local chemist and all they had was 'tyrosine' (100% tyrosine) but on the tub it suggests 3g doses 2-3 times daily.
So this is quite a difference and I'm just hoping I didn't rip myself off by buying a less concentrated form.
Thanks in advance

People have reported on reddit taking anywhere from 350 - 800 mg. Effects ranged from nothing at all, to relaxed and even increased focus.
I was expecting it to be stimulating, because I understood it to stimulate dopamine or something.
It seems to be a fair bit different from L-tyrosine.
I guess this is why Ceretropic used NALT with their caffeine!
Maybe. I wonder what /u/MisterYouAreSoDumb 's reasoning was behind it.

Dopamine by itself is rarely stimulating. You need NE along with it, or it is more relaxing for most.
