Reliably and Safely raising hedonic tone long-term?

Original post in this thread

Is there anything that you legitimately think is safe (and effective long-term) to take somewhat chronically that reliably raises hedonic tone in otherwise normal/healthy people? Or are we just not there yet in finding a substance or set of substances to safely defeat the brain's tendency toward equilibrium.*

Kratom and to a lesser, but probably safer extent, tianeptine seem to be the best candidates from my perspective.*

*Some discussion whether this question is appropriate in this forum:
I realize this question will be somewhat controversial here, as some may argue that raising hedonic tone is a different goal than that of an ordinary nootropic. I'm not sure ultimately, and I think under one sample definition, " drugs, supplements, nutraceuticals, and functional foods that improve one or more aspects of mental function" hedonic tone-enhancers qualify ("joy", "contentment", "enthusiasm", etc--these are certainly "aspects of mental function"). I also realize, though, a distinction should be made between this kind of substance and that that is a "cognitive enhancer", which seems to imply something more along the lines of boosting intelligence, attention, motivation, learning, me…

Kappa antagonists (that aren't also mu antagonists) shouldn't be scheduled--are there any that have a relatively strong safety profile? Maybe we could consider doing (or convincing ceretropic to do) a group buy.

Don't worry, I am keeping my eye on all these things. I just only have so much time in my day, and need to make sure I don't get ahead of myself. Kappa antagonists are something I have been looking at for a long time. There are just so many things, and so little time.
