Noopept+Kratom Interaction: Potentiation

Original post in this thread

[deleted] · 5 points

I started taking noopept two weeks ago, and it's going well. However, since I take kratom once a week, I noticed a curious interaction. Noopept seems to greatly potentiate kratom.

I could barely keep my eyes open last week, effectively nodding for a good hour or two. The next day I had the tell-tale symptoms of a heavy dose of kratom, slightly puff lips and palate. What makes this even stranger is that I have been lower my weekly dose by half a gram each week, so I was expecting a mild experience.

Last night, I repeated the experience with a different strain and a lower dose, and still had roughly the same experience.

Noopept has been the greatest kratom potentiator, by far, that I have come across. Does anyone have any ideas for the mechanism of interaction? Should I be worried about this combination?

Probably about 4-5 months. Dosages usually 3-5 grams ranging from 2-5 days a week. I'd say I probably had 3-4 days where I did 7-10 grams for experimentation. I started to notice on my days off I was lethargic and unmotivated, so I stopped for about 2-3 months completely.

Very interesting. I took it 4-6grams, 2-3 times per day for like 9 months. I recently stopped using it altogether. I feel fantastic right now! However, I am on a lot of nootropics, so that is most likely playing a big role. It is strange that you had a permanent tolerance buildup. Have you tried memantine or DXM to try and bring the tolerance down?

What's the verdict on Noopept and Short-Term Memory?

Replying to Pharnaces_II · It happens for me even with a low dose (10~mg, once per day) over time (3-5 days). Higher doses, especially sublingually, cause poor memory almost immediately.

We should really figure out the mechanism causing it. I usually stack it with a lot of other things, and don't notice it often. Perhaps it's BDNF down-regulation. I usually take kratom once per week. Opioids have been sh
