Hi
So i ordered some piracetam almost a week ago which im still waiting for and Ive finally had an appointment with my doctor. He told me to not try piracetam as it has caused people damage. He says side effects include insomnia and bleeding in the brain and heamorraghes.
Has anyone who has used piracetam had any side effects ever. have any of you, once stopping piracetam, felt that you cant concentrate or focus as much as you could before you ever took any. and could you also state your country please, if you dont mind.
I know about the research of 40 years but still this is worrying. I know its used for treating severe neurological conditions but im worried about the side effects or if my cognitive ability will fall below the baseline after i stop taking it.
Thanks in advance

I disagree. One can easily conclude that since piracetam is a blood thinner, and blood thinners generally lead to increased risk of brain hemorrhages, piracetam increases that risk too, even if no one has bothered to research a link between piracetam and brain hemorrhage.
Part of the doctor's job is to think critically, by using logic and his knowledge of how the body works, to fill the gaps in literature as best as he can. Personal experience is also a perfectly acceptable source of knowledge you don't find or can't learn by reading, though it's validity pales in comparison to well-designed studies; on top of that there is manipulation of the medical literature for independent interests.
Not everything has multiple systematic reviews of triple-blinded placebo-controlled studies.
That being said, OP should do his own research and decide how much risk there really is, as the doctor might be overly cautious too. Personally piracetam did not have negative effects on sleep as long as I didn't take it less than 4 hours before sleep, and I am a carrier of drepanocitosis (half of the red blood cells I produce are like those with the full disease), so I never worried about the blood thinning effects.

Please link me evidence that piracetam is a blood thinner.
