benzodiazepines having a great nootropic effect for me. Give this post a chance!

So I received temazapam to help with insomnia which I take only very occasionally. Maybe once a month or so. Having taken it a few times while not tired, I have incredible mental clarity. Far better than any nootropic I've ever tried. Usually my thoughts are racing and I have a hard time blocking outside distractions and am quite impatient in decision making. But when I take it my thoughts are incredibly well organized, I think about decisions much deeper, and am far more thorough in my decisions.
Now obviously benzodiazepines are a very dangerous and addictive substance. Anyone have thoughts as to something safer that could create similar effects? Or how dangerous is it to see my doctor about possibly getting a long term prescription?
I'm definitely not interested in them for recreational use. But they literally make my life so much better. I sleep very well on them and wake up feeling great instead of my usual waking up feeling unmotivated, lethargic, and foggy. Also their ability to help calm me down, relax me, and allow me to organize my thoughts better and think more clearly.
Sorry if this is in the wrong subreddit. I know these types of drugs aren't looked at favorably on…

I'd be interested to see how you would respond to Selank. That is a lot better for long term use than benzos. Don't get me wrong, benzos work great for the occasional anxiety attack. However, it gets to be a bad things taking them every day for long periods.
