Does Selank have acute effects or long term effects after stopping?

It seems like there are not as many papers on Selank as Semax. There are some papers that discuss somehow modulating the opiate system or 5-HT system. What I could not figure out is whether this was only upon continued administration or is this long term? On some of the dosing instructions for the original Russian bottles they seem to advocate doing a 10 day dose or something like that and then "as needed" which indicates to me that the effects are more long term, but I don't have the information to back it up.
